- Put an ad in your local paper. Or pet finder put a local ad there.
- Have you tried advertising him or checked the local bulldog rescue?
- can you put it in your local paper under giveaway. or RSPCA
- Honestly, Moving is NO excuse to not take your dog. You can't possibly tell me that there are NO pet friendly apartments in your area? Or, you just don't want to pay the extra $20 bucks a month? Which reason is it? To answer your question, you could give him to a no kill shelter. But, he may never find a home. You many love him, but there are MILLIONS of dogs out there that needs homes. So, Yours will have a 1/1,000,000 chance to find a home...... ADD: I just got your email. Sorry, I did sound a bit harsh. But, I do work for a shelter. I see so many dogs turned in Everyday. It is heart breaking for me. Just try everything you can! Giving your dog to a shelter should be your last hope. There are dogs in my shelters that have been there for Months! They are sweet and beautiful, but people pass them up for adorable puppies. You could also try going on craigslsit.com in the pet section. People rehome their animals there too. Well, Good Luck to you! Sorry again!
- if you are in a hurry to find him a place, find your nearest bulldog club, they will take him, they rescue bulldogs and bulldog mixes, and they will find him a great home. I am so sorry you have to do this. I will look up the main number or url and edit it into this message. http://www.rescuebulldogs.org/ http://www.rescuebulldogs.org/rescueroster/rescueroster.pl http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/TX908.html Edit: Why are there two posts that are exactly the same on here? The post above me and one several down, person named Julia?
- Is there no way to bring him along? Can you find an apartment that will allow him? Are any friends/family willing to foster him until you get into a situation where you can have him once again? If they are, I would agree to pay the cost of his food, vet care, etc. and then try to find another place to live that allows dogs ASAP. If you can't do any of the above, consider these options: Does your area have a Humane Society? Many now are no kill. I can't see how a purebred dog would be turned away unless there are health or serious temperment problems. I would also try breed specific rescue groups. You don't mention where you live, but go to www.petfinder.com and look under rescues/shelters. You can also search the internet to find out if there's a breed specific rescue nearby. They can be a tricky dog to own, but a lot of people really like them.
- Why can't you take him? Where are you moving to that you can't have a dog? There are lots of breed rescues. Try a breed rescue, or even your local shelter will be able to find him a loving home.
