My American Bulldog looks different from all the others?
My american Bulldog is 15months old and weight in at 80lbs. she is a very lazy dog. she big, and she eats plenty of food(30lbs a week) but her longer hair and ears just don't look like the others. I have seen both of her parents and they look like all the others. but not my Mariah. she all white with a brindle spot on the left side of her face. and the back of her ears are brindle as well.

- That's because it's a poodle.
- A picture would really help.
- send a pic and we can tell you more!! she could have been from a difrant dad, and that is why she looks difrant!!!
- American Bulldogs dont have the spots in one place, they can have them all over or as little as one. They can have markings on the ears, face, chest, back, tail, stomach...
- If she came from poor breeding stock, then there are likely some other breeds mixed in there somewhere. There are also probably non-standard AmBulldogs gumming things up as well. Of course, there is always the possibility that another dog impregnated mommy as well, resulting in your pup. Litters can have numerous fathers. . .
- Don't worry about the charateristics of your Mariah. We have bred American Bulldogs for years. You can breed for generations, and somewhere in the lineage, there may have been another breed mixed in the litter. A female dog can get impregnated by more than one dog while in estres. We take pictures of the breedings and keep our dogs confined during the heat, It's whats in the dogs heart that matters. Hope this makes you feel better.
- Does she really eat 30 lbs. of food a week? WOW, that's alot. There are different types of American Bulldogs. Standard, Johnson and Hybrid. They also can have patches of color but should be mostly white. Mine looks like her mom and dad but she's much smaller than them and her siblings. Runt of the litter. She's only 60 lbs. but in great shape.
- Maybe it's from a puppy mill. They interbreed dogs so they don't look normal. That's just a suggestion.
- YOU ARE OVERFEEDING HER first of all,,,, she should not be consuming 30lbs of dry kibble per week. perhaps you can go to visit the breeder for a consultation. bear in mind,, not all pups of the litter will turn out to be "show quality" was this a line breeding or an outcross"
